LifeFinder is a Swedish Safety Tech company, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Lund. We build real-time crew positioning and environmental sensing technology for maritime vessels and other safety-critical environments
LifeFinder was founded by a team with backgrounds in IoT, wireless technology, and industrial transformation.
As a former Sony Ericsson VP, co-founder Mats Pettersson brought decades of wireless product expertise – he led the development of the first Bluetooth mobile phone. Co-founder Johan Frilund contributed experience in fleet and transport management technology, while co-founder Marcos Jorge added a background in business intelligence and analytics.
The LifeFinder platform is applicable across maritime, offshore energy, and industrial operations. Within the next few years, LifeFinder’s vision is to become the global standard for situational and environmental awareness in safety-critical environments – establishing a digital safety layer where knowing the location and status of every person in emergencies is as fundamental as having communication systems onboard.
LifeFinder will keep developing a fully integrated safety intelligence system, based on customers real operational needs, that helps prevent incidents and protect lives in hazardous work environments.

He is a trained IoT developer and brings several years of technical sales experience, including from the fire safety industry at Protega.
James joined LifeFinder in 2024, where he is developing the LifeFinder safety tech platform. He specializes in embedded systems, hardware testing, and software quality assurance. He previously worked as a Quality Assurance Tester at Sensative. He is trained in Software Testing.
Susanna joined LifeFinder in 2026, working with marketing communications.
She brings documented experience in marketing communication, processes, and organizational structure from a range of start-ups.
Jan brings over 30 years of sales experience, with a strong track record in business development, sales management, and go-to-market strategy.
He is co-founder of Netsecure AB and has built and led sales processes across multiple ventures.
